      Redesigned app

      Building with testers now

The app has been rebuilt around the check-in. The home screen now leads with the Proof of Life countdown and its status, with Memory Pages, Capsules and Friends as counters underneath, and Funeral Planning given its own card.

Proof of Life has its own tab with a weekly streak, and the Memory Page builder has been rewritten into a guided flow: who the page is for, then photos, video and audio, then submit for review.

      Longer check-in windows

      Building with testers now

How often Proof of Life asks you to check in is now yours to set: every 12 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours, 72 hours, or once every 7 days. There is a separate grace period on top, so a check-in that comes due does not immediately count as missed.

A daily prompt suits some people and feels like pressure to others. Letting someone choose a weekly rhythm makes the feature usable for far more of them.

      Video editor on the website

Currently being built by the team

A video editor built into the website, so footage can be trimmed and assembled straight in the browser before it goes onto a Memory Page.

Most people have the video but not the patience to edit it elsewhere first. Removing that step is the difference between a memory that gets uploaded and one that stays on a phone.

Proof of Life - automatic motion check-in

Currently being built by the team

Proof of Life is moving from a manual tap to a passive check-in based on real phone movement. Instead of asking you to press a button to confirm you're okay, the app reads the phone's motion sensors and checks you in on its own once it detects you're up and moving around.

The point is that the signal becomes something you do rather than something you remember to do - the people watching your account get a genuine indication of activity, and a missed check-in means something.

      Heritage Toronto partnership

      Early conversations - exploratory

Saylavy is in early conversations with Heritage Toronto about working together on preserving local history and personal memory - connecting the Memory Pages side of the app to Toronto's heritage storytelling.

Nothing has been agreed or signed. This is listed as pipeline, not as a closed partnership, and it should be read that way.

      AI conversation window for grief

Currently being built by the team

An AI conversation space for people who are grieving, built into the app. It gives someone a place to talk through a loss at any hour, including the times when friends and family are asleep, or when saying it out loud to somebody you know feels like too much.

It is being designed around the specific shape of grief rather than as a general chatbot, and it sits next to Memory Pages so a conversation can begin from the person being remembered.
